Transport Canada has regulated drone flight through inclusion in the Canadian Aviation Regulations. No one is allowed to fly a drone in Canada if the drone weighs more than 250g. 

A Basic license will allow you to fly a drone, however, the pilot will be restricted in how and where they can operate.
